“We got a great product for a good cost. The print job was fantastic, and the sound quality was great. The client was completely over the moon with the final product, and the media insert was a huge hit at the Sydney Motor Show!”

The Challenge:

To create a magazine media insert to launch the new Harley Davidson Twin Cam 96 for a campaign to be circulated in Australia.

The Solution:

There is no denying that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle has a unique sound. Having researched different types of creative treatment, Harley Davidson decided upon the use of sound for the insertion. Through the decades, Harley-Davidson motorcycles have generated emotion and have been designing, manufacturing and selling their motorcycles using the unique Harley-Davidson sound.

The sound needed to capture the attention of the audience, whilst maintaining the tradition and heritage that is so interwoven within the brand. Bliss Sound Direct using the latest audio module technology created a chip which replicated the unique sound of a Harley Davidson’s V Twin engine. The sound of the thumping, chest pounding road-eating Harley Davidson V Twin was embedded in the media insert so as the mailer was opened this was heard.

The Results:

The impact that can be made by introducing sounds can make a truly dramatic difference.
100,000 inserts were distributed around Australia. The response received from dealers, the motorcycle industry and the advertising industry was extremely positive.
